Conference Interpretation

premier Translation & Interpretation

Translation Task will help you deliver your messages
and technical information with complete confidence.

Conference interpretation or simultaneous translation is used at meetings where more than one language is spoken. It is a tool used to communicate the message of the speakers and delegates from one language into another or into multiple languages. The role of the interpreter is to communicate the speaker’s meaning accurately and efficiently.

Interpreters work in teams to perform their highly demanding task. Besides a solid mother tongue and excellent understanding of at least two or three other languages, interpreters also need to have many other skills and qualities, such as the ability to analyze a message quickly and communicate it well.

How We Work

Conference interpreters are tasked with listening to the context of what the speaker is saying, and relaying it back accurately in the target language, while preserving the integrity of the message. There are different types of conference interpreting, and different skill sets are needed depending on each one.

There are typically several modes of conference interpretation that interpreters usually deploy to deliver the speaker’s message. For example, consecutive interpretation means an interpreter listens to the speaker for a few sentences, and then will wait until the speaker pauses to begin relaying information back in the target language.  Simultaneous interpretations happen in real time. As the speaker is talking, the conference interpreter is relaying the content to an audience at the same time. These interpretations call for the interpreter to be in a booth speaking into a microphone with the audience members wearing headphones.

When choosing a conference interpreter, professionalism, experience, and skill will play a major role in your decision.
